From clean glass to clean edges
Choose a legal setup
Illinois does not use one limit for every window. MES checks the front, rear, and windshield setup for your vehicle before film is cut.
Then the film
Dark and cool are not the same thing. A lighter ceramic film can reject more heat than a darker basic film.
Cutting and fitting
The glass is cleaned, then each piece is cut and shrunk to the window's curve for a flat fit and clean edge.

How dark can I legally go in Illinois?
Illinois ties the front-side limit to the rear glass, and the windshield has separate restrictions. Medical exemptions follow different rules. MES checks the current statute and your complete glass setup before film is cut.
Is ceramic tint worth the difference?
Ceramic can reject more heat at the same shade. It is most useful when the car sits outside; standard film may be enough when privacy and appearance are the priority.
How long before I can roll the windows down?
Usually a few days, and longer when it is cold or damp. MES will give you the wait time when you pick up the vehicle.
